With more than 638,000 deer hunting licenses sold, hunters only registered a preliminary total of 195,647 deer during Wisconsin's 2009 nine-day gun deer hunt.

The last few years Rio has been lucky enough to host some wonderful foreign exchange students. Last year, Ray and Heather Canales and their two children, Amberly and Robert hosted Ben Gonzales. This year Calvin Canales’ family took on the responsibility of hosting a foreign exchange student. They chose to take in Lucas Frege from Germany.

This year’s 2009 Homecoming week sparked the start of an exciting year.
