The softball season started out with a lot of weather delayed games which resulted in 10 games in 9 days with one practice in the middle. The Vikings first victory came against Fall River. The ladies were ready after their last meeting with Fall River and took the game with a score of 16-6.

The girls started out the game by getting everyone up to bat in the first inning which was new for the end of the line-up because they usually had to wait until the second or third innings to bat. The ladies came up with a total of twelve hits and only five walks in the five innings that were played.

Jaime Bender was the pitcher for the whole game. She allowed only eight hits and two walks to someone whose strike zone was less than normal (maybe six inches by six inches). Jaime also threw four strike outs to gain the first victory the Vikings saw this year. Viking Softball
