Cross country has gotten off to a great start with improvement all across the board. A majority of people have run their best races on courses this year, but they don’t lose sight of fun. The team has played many games different games and has even taken a trip to Pizza hut. The trip was a good idea, 2 large pizzas and 3 pounds of pasta between 4 people however, was not a good idea.
The girls are being led by the legacy that is Hansena Vangen with Kristin Olson and Marissa Peters not far behind. Afew top places Hansena has taken are 3rd at our Rebel Invitation and 2nd at the Pioneer Westfield Invite. I’m sure there’s more but that’s all I’ve gotten results from.
Derek Johnsrud is still awesome and leading the competition by minutes. Our hometown hero for the guys is Jarrad Hovland. He has shown improvement last spring when he broke the 5 minute mile boundary and is still showing potential. Josh Tolley and Shane Foreman have been working together for solid finishes in the past few races. While Forest Friedrichs, Nick Fera, Zach Seipel, and Alex Medvednikov (Russian AFS from Fall River) bring the party in the back of the pack showing other schools what fun running is all about.
